Green Hornet? Humor With No Sting.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way ...

TRAILER REVIEW

This is a trailer review. Haven't seen the movie. The movie could be okay. The trailer is so-so hokey, like a funny thing happened on the way to make a movie based on a comics character, the writers stopped to do stand-up skits. Well, may not quite that, but a lot of hokey jokes made it into the trailer..

The comics don't mean funny books. The comic book movie doesn't mean funny book movie. Humor is always appreciated. Jokey humor is hokey humor.

The Green Hornet movie is scheduled for release on January 14, 2011. It is supposed to be an action movie. The stars are Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, Edward Furlong, and in the Bruce Lee role, rather as Kato, is Jay Chou. The director is Michel Gondry, and the credited writers are Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen.

Seth Rogen? So does that explain the hokey jokes?

The plot line put out by the studio is: "By night, debonair newspaper publisher Britt Reid fights crime as a masked superhero known as The Green Hornet. At his side is martial arts expert Kato."

Between Kato's karate / or is it kungfu kicks? -- Rogen and Chou deliver -- IMHO -- one-liners that should have been drop-kicked from the script.. Jay Chou's kungfu looks like it should look in a trailer -- good.

In the trailer the actor in the title role looks and acts like a klutz. Well, he is a comedian and not an action star, or an actor.

This is a so-so trailer that doesn't hook me. It makes me want to stay away from this movie..
